WNWN Asks “Naughty” or “Nice” in Christmas Brussels Sprouts Promotion
LONDON – 12 December, 2023 – WNWN Food Labs, the first to bring cocoa-free chocolate to market, is sending three of its lucky UK Instagram followers a twist on a modern Christmas prank: a DIY kit to make cocoa-free chocolate-covered Brussels sprouts that includes WNWN choc for melting, Brussels sprouts for dipping, and instructions.
The Naughty or Nice contest also awards three unlucky winners a prize they may not like, which hints at the sustainability issues associated with mass-produced chocolate.
“We thought we’d have a bit of fun with the trend of people dipping Brussels sprouts in chocolate, and promote a cocoa-free version,” said Dr. Johnny Drain, WNWN CTO. “All our fans deserve to be on the ‘nice’ list, but the ‘naughty’ winners will learn a lot about the operations of Big Choc—a truly naughty industry—including outsized carbon emissions, deforestation, and child labour.”
“Naughty or Nice” launched on Instagram 6 Dec and runs until 23:59 p.m. on 13 December. Winners will be selected at random.

Cocoa suppliers and chocolate purveyors are increasingly being challenged on their environmental and human rights harm. In the EU, a ban on cocoa and chocolate linked to deforestation took effect in June, while in the U.S., a federal lawsuit is calling for a block on imports of cocoa harvested by child labour. Globally, Starbucks is under fire for repeated failure to address cocoa supply chain questions.
Cocoa crops are highly vulnerable to climate change, including rising temperatures and reduced rainfall, which has led experts to predict chocolate shortages and supply chain issues in the coming years even as cocoa prices are already up a staggering 66% in the UK and 46% in the U.S.
WNWN’s award-winning choc is dairy-free, palm oil-free, and caffeine-free. WNWN dark and plant-based m•lk choc is now available in wholesale packs for worldwide bakeries, restaurant/foodservice, confectionery groups, and CPG/FMCG companies.
